President Ryutaro Ike
Major companies are still a main part of the Japanese economy, and small and medium-sized enterprises and ventures follow them. Such a division of roles, which has been going on for a long time, is about to change from the ground up. I think the point is how to create a “chain of value” with connecting the most suitable companies regardless of size or geographical constraints. It is a chance for us too, therefore we are challenging it.
As a top manager, I have three management issues that I want to solve.
- 1. Employees are required to work like machines.
- 2. Being bound only by efficiency and focusing on cost.
- 3. Being content with same job as our predecessors.
I think it is our mission to get results on these issues that cannot be postponed. In the past few years, there has been a mechanism for employees to enjoy change. I think that it is necessary to get through the change and finish it. With curiosity about manufacturing site, based on real “muddy water”(=good or bad opinions) information on the site, we will solve “what is happening at the site” one by one with manufacturing teams through communication with them. We will thoroughly implement such “hands-on approach.” “If a company stops with peace of mind, the organization will decline.
It is important to create an organization that takes on challenges.”
With this in mind, I continue to strengthen a corporate constitution that can continue to change on a daily basis as a top manager.
Purpose of a company is neither growth nor profit. Purpose of a company is to make as many people as possible happy. I cherish that teaching. I feel that the company has become interesting. I am really looking forward to the company future from now on.
